🌗 Light & Shadow: Why You Don’t Need to Feel Good All the Time

🌗 Light & Shadow: Why You Don’t Need to Feel Good All the Time

Honouring Both Sides of Your Energy

There are days when everything feels open, steady, and clear.
Your energy flows, your thoughts feel lighter, and even small things seem to fall into place.

And then… there are other days.

Days where your energy feels heavier.
Where your mind is quieter, or louder in a different way.
Where motivation softens, and everything asks a little more of you.

For a long time, we’re taught to reach only for the light.
To move towards feeling good, positive, productive.

But life doesn’t move in a straight line.
It moves in cycles.

Just like the moon, just like the seasons…
you are not meant to feel the same every day.

🌑 The Shadow Isn’t Something to Fix

Shadow days are not failures.
They are not signs that something has gone wrong.

They are part of your rhythm.

These are the days that invite you to slow down.
To turn inward instead of outward.
To notice what you might otherwise move past.

Sometimes, shadow shows up as tiredness.
Sometimes as overwhelm.
Sometimes as quiet, where you expected clarity.

And while it may not feel comfortable…
it is still
valid.

🌕 The Light Isn’t Something to Chase

Light doesn’t come from forcing yourself into a better mood.
It doesn’t come from ignoring how you feel.

It comes naturally… when it’s ready.

The more you resist shadow,
the more distant light can feel.

But when you allow yourself to be where you are,
something softens.

And in that space…
light begins to return, gently.

🌗 Finding Balance Between the Two

Balance isn’t about staying in the light.
It’s about learning to move with both.

On lighter days, you might feel open, inspired, connected.

On shadow days, you might feel slower, quieter, more reflective.

Both are part of you.
Both have something to offer.

You don’t need to rush yourself out of one
to deserve the other.

A Gentle Practice

When you notice your energy shift, try this:

Pause for a moment.
Take a slow breath.

And simply ask yourself:

What do I need today?”

Not what you should do.
Not what you
usually do.

Just… what feels supportive right now.

Sometimes the answer will be action.
Sometimes it will be rest.

Both are enough.

🌙 A Final Thought

You are not meant to be bright all the time.
You are not meant to feel “on” every day.

There is wisdom in your light.
There is wisdom in your shadow.

And when you begin to honour both…
you return to yourself in a deeper, more honest way.
